Create a site from a payment with Zapier

Use this when the client pays somewhere other than your storefront, such as Stripe, an invoice tool or a booking app. You need an API key.

Steps #

  1. Trigger: the new payment, or the invoice marked paid, in your payment app.
  2. Action: Webhooks by Zapier, then Custom Request.
    • Method: POST
    • URL: https://api.anypress.io/v1/tenants
    • Basic Auth: your key and secret with a bar between them, key|secret
    • Headers: Content-Type = application/json
  3. Data: the body below, with the payment’s id as the externalId.
{
  "name": "Rose and Fern",
  "externalId": "pay-3QxK81Lm",
  "wordPressUserName": "owner",
  "wordPressUserEmail": "owner@roseandfern.example",
  "wordPressUserRole": "administrator",
  "size": "medium"
}

Tips #

  • Using the payment’s own id means a Zap that runs twice still makes only one site.
  • externalId may only contain letters, numbers and dashes, so swap any underscore for a dash.
  • To take the site offline when the client cancels, see Suspend a site when a client cancels.
