You can bring a WordPress site you already have to AnyPress with a free plugin and an import code. Everything comes across, and your old site keeps running until you switch.
Steps #
- Get an import code. It starts with
AP1.and works for 7 days. Website owners get one from us after picking a plan. Sellers and resellers make one at app.anypress.io with Move a site in. - Install AnyPress Export on your current site, the same way you add any plugin.
- In your current site’s dashboard, go to Tools > Move to AnyPress. Paste the code and press send. Keep the page open while it uploads. If it closes, open it again and it carries on where it stopped.
- Check the site on its new address, then point your domain at it. See Use your own domain.
What comes across #
- Your whole database: pages, posts, products, orders, customers and settings.
- Your themes, plugins, photos, files and languages.
Caches, backup plugins’ archives, and caching add-ons your old host added are left out, because your AnyPress site has its own.
Before you start #
- Your current site needs PHP 7.4 or newer, and enough free space for a compressed copy of itself.
- The site must fit your plan’s storage: 5 GB on Small, 10 GB on Medium and 25 GB on Large, and 5 GB at most for the move itself. The plugin tells you before it starts if it’s too big.
- Multisite networks can’t be moved yet. Email support@anypress.io to talk through options.
After the move #
Your site keeps its own plugins and themes, exactly as they were. Keeping them up to date is up to you, as on any WordPress site.
